[原创]海的女儿

I was born in a remote village of north Taishan. I moved to Taishan city when I turned five year old. I never dreamt about ocean. I can only learn something relevant about ocean from books. What ocean means to me is that where fishes and seaweeds reside. fficeffice\" />

People mentioned about Guanhai Taishan, which is the closest town by the sea from Taishan city. Even though it was so close in the distant, I didn’t have a chance to visit Guanhai Taishan until 1980. I must admit that was the first trip I took in my life. I’ve never been far away from home. Financial hardship was the primary issue. My parents were the typical traditional Chinese. They were very strict. My siblings and I had absolutely no freedom.

It was early in the morning, five of our classmates met at the bus station. It took more than an hour to get to Guanhai by bus. It’s a very small town with two main streets. We hung around in the street breathing that salty air. The local people were very friendly. They guided us to the sea shore. That was the first time I saw the ocean, which Mother Nature graciously have covered three fourth of the entire world.

It’s hard to see where the ocean ends since it’s so vast. I was not surprise by seeing no foaming rolling waves. Legend said: Once upon a time, the Ocean had brought a lot of disaster to this region. One of the official officers had done magical things to the ocean. This part of the ocean became waveless ever since. People dominated him as a hero. You will see a stone with the words imprinted by him by the water. Guanhai officials reserved this area as a historical spot. This spot became one of the city’s land marks of Guranhai.

There were neither ships nor boats at sea that day. Its falling tide created a beach that is blackened with mud. Variety of sea creatures are running onto the shore. Also little hermit crabs are hiding in the jagged rocks. We picked up sea shells holding close to our ears. I wonder if we would listen to the same sounds of the sea. We all got exciting chasing each other on the sea shore where we left behind numerous foot prints. Oh, it’ been almost three decades. Those foot prints had long washed away. But the sweet memory will remain in our hearts.

I am really happy as compared to you, I can see the sea every day, feel it, touch it, enjoy the sea breeze kissing my cheeks... Yes, the sea is charming and broad, like our saint mother full of mercy. People always describe such their feelings: ahh, the sea view is pleasing to us; there's a sense of exhilaration on the beach; facing the sea, let loose our imagination, like seagulls or birds, flap the wings & fly over the vast and expansive sea. hehe, how beautiful, so do welcome you to my hometown, I'll lead you to further enjoy the sea. I'll be waiting for you...
